Children Collide talk gaming

Publish date: 25.10.2009

We chat to the guys from the band Children Collide, who are featured in the EA SPORTS™ FIFA 2010 game.

1.  How long has the band been together?

About 4 years.

2.  Are you all keen gamers?

I have been an avid gamer since I was about 10. The other guys enjoy a game occasionally but could never match the sheer man hours I have put in behind every console imaginable.

3.  What was your first gaming experience that you can recall?

Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt on the original Nintendo. Brilliant.

4.  What are your favourite types of games? (i.e. racing, shooters, music?)

Shooters. Without a doubt.

5.  Who is the most skilled gamer in the band?

I don't want to bignote myself, but it seems I'm about to. When we were at the EA offices sampling FIFA 10 I scored one of the most intimidatingly impressive goals in the history of gaming. The uninitiated saw only luck in it but any grizzled veteran would have appreciated the pure skill involved. I think about that goal every day.

6.  What do you think of PlayStation 3 and all of its next-gen technology?

Wonderful. My most punished console of all time was easily the PS2 so it's great to see all the improvements made to the PS3 while retaining the familiar brilliance of earlier PlayStation consoles.

7.  How do you feel about having your music featured in EA SPORTS™ FIFA 10?

It's an odd thing to be playing any game and have a song you had a hand in writing playing as you do so. It is a brilliant feeling. Fantastic.

8.  What upcoming games are you most looking forward to?

I've heard that there is a new Medal Of Honour in the works. This interests me greatly. I have loved every Medal Of Honour and welcome any addition to the family with open arms.

9. If you could make your own game, what would it be?

Probably some sort of mixture of Max Payne and Devil May Cry. I loved those games. Something noir-ish, with demons and unlimited ammo. I'd probably have to quit this drumming business and focus on some serious gaming.
